(High-Collectible)
(High Collectible) ("New Arrivals Gallery") In an exciting departure from traditional Senneh designs, this surrealistic-looking masterwork portrays images from the historically important art of Persian miniatures from several centuries ago. Here, each square represents a marvelous miniature, rendered in fascinating detail and telling its own story. The drawing is quite stylized, and a 'heathering' of some of the colors creates an intriguing impressionistic effect. The most prominent figure is the tiger in regal repose, suggesting vigor and elite status. Above each tiger cartouche are two flanking lions and two quite amorphous birds, which may be 'Birds of Paradise'. An abundant menagerie of other quite abstract creatures fills the alternating frames. A palette of crimson red, golden-ochre, sapphire blue, ultramarine, jade, and soft burgundy heightens the charm of this entrancing display of ancient stories. The charming one-of-a-kind pattern, the captivating historic composition, and the incredibly heavy pile condition at such a significant age make this an important and highly collectible art investment that can be savored for a lifetime.
