(Connoisseur-Caliber) ("New Arrivals Gallery") Uncompromising craftsmanship and a distinctive, nuanced aesthetic characterize the much-sought-after antique carpets from the Veramin region. Antique Veramin runners are very rarely found and this is a particularly virtuoso 150-year-old century example. A succession of delicately rendered, wondrously detailed boteh motifs (the precursor to the Indian paisley), each surrounded by elegant floral sprays, proceed in rhythmic rows along its full length. A warm, time-softened palette of robustly dyed earth tones and rare pastels makes this superb piece still more enticing, as does its superb condition.
