(High-Collectible)
("New Arrivals Gallery") This mesmerizing folkloric art carpet features an enterprising open honeycomb design, departing from more expected patterns. Within each compartment lives a totemically drawn floral sprig. Their outstretched “arms” offer tiny blossoms with its flowerhead resembling a crested mask. This unaffected, flowing composition seems to extend in all directions into infinite space, true to the symbolic belief of the creators of this piece. A palette of matured naturally dyed hues gently washes across the magically patinaed surface while continual nuances of color in the soft brick red ground ensures an exquisite degree of visual depth. Composed in a reductive abstract state, the vine and rosette sequence in the brilliantly color-shifting blue border is playfully disarticulated in the vertical bands. Overall asymmetry engenders a palpable sense of floating movement. This exceptional asset class carpet has beaten the odds by retaining primarily heavier pile.
