(Connoisseur-Caliber) This charming, yet dignified antiquePersian Ferahan Sarouk presents a richly abundant floral filigree design and tremendously luminous wool. In each corner spandrel, individually drawn aqua peacocks in full regalia are a strikingly original feature. The warmth of the auburn ground tone adds the deepest notes to the splendid range of warm and cool secondary mid-tones. Skillful color striation, known as abrash, adds to the sense of animation and depth. Astonishingly, this 130-140-year-old carpet is in excellent, heavier pile condition.
