(High-Collectible)
This enchanting, very early Bakshaish virtuoso carpet features a beautiful undyed golden camelhair field that reveals a creative vision that melds extraordinary spontaneity throughout every aspect of its exciting yet harmonious visual program. It captivates its viewers with artfully hand-rendered abstract flowerhead designs adeptly positioned with countless slight asymmetries and internal color variations. This creates a strong sense of organic movement resulting from the weavers being masters of animated spontaneity. The impact of each sunburst flower is made more immediate through buoyant azure and glowing vermilion hues. Within this botanical matrix are curling leaves and shapes that could be perceived as perching birds, with innumerable small-scale ornamental inclusions that appear to advance and recede into the visually textured background. Enhanced by skillful usage of both subtle and stark tonal shifts, the composition becomes much more multi-dimensional. Somewhere within, one of the weavers has even included an image of themselves. Its luculent arctic blue border comprises wonderfully naive geometrized blossoms connected by undulating vinery. The fantastic condition and exceptionally rare size of this landmark, over 170-year-old village carpet, are also of note.
