(High-Collectible)
("Great Lakes Collection") The unlimited beauty of nature is reflected in a flowering "Tree of Life," motif beginning at the lower edge of the field with a grove of dramatic willow trees and venerated cypresses. Its central feature is a long-trunked arboreal wonder with graceful branches wending their way skyward, to produce three additional conical conifers set beneath an elegantly scalloped, blossom-ladened arch. Skillfully balanced and joyously rendered floral boughs abound with detail while distilled to their elementary shapes with astonishing sensitivity, representing a wide array of native species. A ravishing color palette was skillfully dyed from foraged and homegrown natural ingredients to reveal sage greens, tangerine, platinum blue, currant, and carmine, among other subtle gradients. The splendiferous garden motif continues in the border with trees and blooming shrubbery growing from both its inner and outer minor bands. At over 150 years old, this art-level 19th-century rug is in heavier pile condition, destined to delight on either the floor or special wall space through its lyricisms and uplifting theme. GLC rugs cannot be purchased using exchange credit.
