(Connoisseur-Caliber)
("New Arrivals Gallery") Unusually elemental, this joyfully unpretentious Bijar exudes the irrepressible folk charm that enthusiasts of the Kurdish Camelhair genre highly prize. Its nimble weaver, accustomed to finding innovative ways to create new visual paradigms in rustic conditions, decided to express their talents with a riot of color set against an austere backdrop. The polychromatic outline of four medallions ascends the field with evocative elemental blossoms presented as single shield-like forms and as a radial cluster. A festive display of tertiary ornaments sprouts from the color-shifting camelhair ground, like a surrealistic gathering in a fantastical desert oasis. Flowering bushes, boteh seeds, and fringed geometric flowerheads gleefully dance with spontaneously placed 'Diamonds of Strength' and 'Stars of Wisdom.’ Its playful border is an homage to Cubism before such a thing even existed in the Western world. This long rug would be delightful in a corridor or to delineate between functional zones in an open floor plan and remains in heavier pile condition.
