(High-Collectible)
("New Arrivals Gallery") This thoroughly enchanting 19th-century Sultanabad offers a tantalizing, exceedingly seldom-seen pattern language combined with exotically harmonious and serene color. The radial center medallion is enclosed by an assortment of imaginative botanical motifs captured in a visually kinetic expansive motion. Four teardrop palmettes point to the cardinal directions, wreathed by flame-like laurel branches. Bold and ethereal feathery fronds and curling vinery that clutch at elemental rosettes complete this visually appealing circumambience. Further afield, a number of Persian tile motifs float in an orderly, spacious display on a serene parchment background. The entire composition is slightly north of center, providing an engaging sense of movement. Many interior design professionals favor Sultanabads as their palettes are unique and, magically, always cohesive with a vast array of decors. Extremely good condition with even, medium pile allows the design clarity to shine through in this rare, nearly square carpet, adaptable to numerous applications around the home.
