Most probably commissioned for a discerning patron, this stunning corridor-sized Bakshaish offers a burnished gold and scarlet red theme to create a magnificent visual impression. Its spacious, uncluttered allover field design known as Herati is woven by most of the rug weaving groups and centers, but only the Bakshaish know how to create the openness and relaxed presentation such as in this brilliantly conceived piece. The glistening butterscotch camel ground is a seldom seen and entirely successful feature that greatly magnifies the folk art carpet's luminosity, perfectly accented by bold crimson and turquoise.
