One of the world’s best sources of antique carpets. – Financial Times
11' 6" x 14' 2" Circa 1920 Price: $14,000
An exquisitely rendered diamond-shaped extremely luminous turquoise medallion, with its unusual quadruple pendants, is the focal point of this distinctive vintage Persian village carpet. The petite medallion is surrounded by a scrolling allover pattern of variegated blossoms, and with this evocative floral imagery, crisp contrasts and harmonious color palette create tremendous visual interest. A cornucopia of bright, naturally dyed colors dazzles the eyes and senses as indigo, jade green, sky blue, dusky rose, ochre and ivory flower blossoms burst over a carnelian red field further graced by a subtle abrash technique imbues this Mahal with a wonderful sense of depth. This combined with its rare emerald green corners will personalize a wide range of decors and, happily, is in very good condition with medium to heavy pile.
