In the field, the unusual buff-toned ground holds an exciting allover assortment of highly geometricized rosettes, which are an imaginative variation of the often-used ‘sprig and flower’ pattern. It is here that the weaver truly shows a masterful use of spontaneity and freedom. Not only is the traditional flower design given a completely original expression, but also she breaks away from the usual field of repeating flowers and includes other surprising designs in alternate rows.
