This engagingly novel rug from the Shahsavan region is a mesmerizing tribal artifact woven somewhere in Persian Azerbaijan by the pastoral-nomadic group. Offering a tremendously earthy ambiance in its color tones of royal blue, golden wheat, fawn, auburn, and copper, this visual delight also showcases expressive indigenous graphics that were meaningful and brought great joy to those who created this engaging folk artwork. Vertically off-center, its creator assured that the composition was imbued with kineticism and vitality, rife with spontaneous discovery. Its virtually square size appears quitey infrequently among Persian tribal rugs, and clients often inquire about them for spaces needing these dimensions. This utterly charming little rug also offers surprisingly good condition, retaining an even, high-medium pile with an enriching slight patina that enables each motif and time softened color to shine.
