(Connoisseur-Caliber) ("New Arrivals Gallery") With an intriguingly unique variation of the venerable Lesghi Star design, this piece captures the essence of what makes this one of the most compelling emblems in the Caucasian lexicon and why it inspires weavers from neighboring regions to portray it. A central ivory and royal blue star is joined by two in vermilion above and below to form the totemic column that occupies the centerline. Within each is Wheels of Life, adorned with sparkling diamonds that also appear in smaller pairs outside the architectural triple medallion axis. Diminutive cloudband motifs are found in the spaces between, representing the vapor-enshrouded Celestial Dragon, a concept introduced from the Far East. Evocative color fluctuations visually augment the power of the main symbol and the overall dimensionality of the entire composition. Its superb visual craftsmanship achieves breathtaking clarity and precision. The main border is a playground for spontaneous ornamentations. Fabulous condition with an evenly patinated medium-height pile proves this work can endure the test of time.
