(High-Collectible) Offering a stellar level of quality and highly elevated artistry, this intoxicatingly beautiful Tabriz would make an ardent fan of this genre swoon with delight. Its noble composition features a subdued medallion that extends vertically into double trees crowned by budding garlands. Rustling foliage expands from branches across the midnight blue reserve. While idealistic in its presentation, every design element is rife with spontaneous variance in color, size, and shape, imbuing this piece with a gentle animation. Textured desert earth colors and tasteful abrash surprises are integral to achieving the sublime sophistication we have all come to expect from the renowned 19th-century Tabriz workshop of Hadji Jallili. Tonal gradations of burnt copper, blued steel, buff, electrum, persimmon, and midnight cobalt ring out in tuneful unison to further demonstrate a masterful sense of compositional harmony. With its extremely good pile condition, this piece glows with a glorious shimmer, and the slight "patina" is part of what sets antique rugs apart from the rest. It would be a distinctive visual enhancement in a room and a prized addition to any art rug collection.
