This delightfully eccentric runner woven in one of many the small villages that surrounded Heriz in Northwest Persia excels in its vigorous folk art aesthetic and the casual balance of its elemental tribal rug motifs. Its chain of hexagonal medallions is anchored by a fascinating diversity of profoundly saturated, rarely encountered hues against a warm coral field. Rare olive green stands alongside glowing salmon, terracotta, and clear Prussian blue. Unabashedly spontaneous shifts in the width of the borders at both ends reinforce this Oriental village rug's capacity for surprise. Its sturdy construction also makes this antique runner exceedingly durable.
