Unique visual drama and an extraordinary baize green ground are among the stunning attributes of this astoundingly creative, collectible rug from the much-coveted Fachralo Kazak substyle. Huge, enigmatic twin medallions levitate above a completely different lower device of almost Egyptian proportions, with its cryptic inner motif. Great inventiveness and a sense of play proceeds in the profusion of naïve abstract ornaments and iconic four-legged animals, placed in a deceptively sophisticated arrangement that alternates light and dark with expert effect. Its grand scale leaf and calyx main border pattern compresses and expands between the top and bottom of the rug with delightful inconsistency while the guard borders perform in marched step exactitude.
