LILLIHAN SAROUK RUNNER, West Central Persian
3' 6" x 16' 11" Circa 1920 Price: $12,000
(High-Decorative)
This superb quality runner woven in the village of Lillihan has the luxurious wool quality, softer color palette, and semi-formal character that has long made this style so popular, but is now increasingly difficult to obtain. Making an immediate impact through one of the most endearing extrapolations of the ever-morphable Herati pattern we have seen, its classic blossom centered diamond and koi-like acanthus leaves burgeon and bloom like a meadow of spring wildflowers. Its wide palette includes a joyous euphony of daffodil, peach blush, forest green, and cadet blue strewn across the deepest sapphire field. In magnificent heavier pile condition, it offers a comfortably sophisticated atmosphere that is bound to transfer to its surroundings.
