KARAJA

(High-Decorative) ("New Arrivals Gallery") Inviting for its rich range of gem tones, this is a dynamic example of the much-loved village weavings of Karaja from Northwest Persian Azerbaijan. It displays a high-mountain village spirit admirably captured in its signature design of two graphic, sea-green niched medallions flanking an absolutely radiant Tuscany gold centerpiece. The masterfully juxtaposed colorways are further elevated by bright coral, delicate Robin's egg blue, bronze, olive, and luminescent ivory. Tastefully robust abrash color-shifting in the spacious brick-hued Shah Abbas border skillfully enhances the center, its warmth complementing the cooler blues and golds. The field is filled with entirely stylized botanical elements that are inventively connected to medallions, all skillfully emphasized against the deeply soothing midnight ground. The rug's wonderful heavier pile is yet another desirable trait.
