This entirely enchanting nomad antique rug features confident, yet highly individual artistry. The field depicts the ancestral "Mother and Child Both"; motif, with each overscale, finely detailed "Seed of Life" holding a smaller boteh within its cradling sheath arranged in offset rows. The boteh are each subtly different than the next and beautifully sculpted, filled with sprig and flower designs. Look closely to reveal that the ivory ground of the field features diverse whimsical geometric designs. The main border displays a unique pattern of very abstract flowers alternating with sprigs and flowers surrounded by a lyrical arrangement of minuscule devices. The outer border, shifting from azure to brilliant peacock blue, features a meandering vine chain of starflowers and slanted leaves. Charming, striped kilim skirts adorn the fringe ends.
